Product Manager - tumour mutation analysis

Job Description: Our client is a personalised medicine company providing molecular diagnostics to aid doctors and drug companies in selecting therapies for patients. The company offers products, technology and services to the healthcare industry to enable the delivery of safe and effective medicines. Predominantly in the field of cancer they have a range of companion diagnostic and research kits that detect mutations in oncogenes associated with cancer drug responses.
A new vacancy has arisen for a Product Manager to be responsible for the product portfolio of tumour mutation analysis products in this high-value and rapidly growing market. Responsibilities include:
Devise and implement marketing strategies
Strategic planning for the business, providing a thorough understanding of product portfolio and opportunities.
Analyze and segment various global markets to determine market opportunities, competitive positioning, product attributes, pricing and sales forecasts
Serve as the product champion, ensuring product performance meets expectations and explore ways for continuous improvement and market adoption
Conduct market research on new product opportunities and work with R&D on product evolution and next generation applications.
Contribute to corporate marketing goals and revenue targets by actively supporting the commercial team through lead generation and visits/presentations to customers
Preparation and delivery of training materials, technical information, sales presentations, running wet workshops, technical support etc.
Provide input to the Marketing Manager on marketing literature and contribute to web content.


Essential Skills:
The successful candidate should have a minimum of a BSc degree in the Life Sciences. Ideally a minimum of 3 years of experience in product management in clinical diagnostics. A laboratory background, specifically with experience in molecular biology including real time PCR consequently able to relate to customers at a high technical level. Successful sales track record (> 3 years) working with diagnostic laboratories, specifically molecular biology and molecular pathology, and a strong key account knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. 􀂉 Preferably experience in supporting distributors. Strong presentation, analytical and customer service skills


Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: Manchester

Job Title: Product Manager – liquid handling

Job Description: Our client is looking to appoint a Product Manager to be responsible for their largest supplier of pipettes.
The role will include:
To prepare in consultation with the Marketing Director tactical Business Plans to achieve the required sales growth and financial return for both existing and line extension products
To manage the implementation of the plan under the umbrella of the Team Coordination Meeting and using the Marketing Services provided
To promote the sales of the products by any and all means including generation of paper mailings, emails, web pages, literature, etc. Copywriting skills needed
To utilise up to 25% time in field face to face with customers to:
· support the sales force by product demonstration; high level product knowledge and by demonstrating approach to customer.
· establish reference points and maintain contact with the market
To train and help motivate the sales force and HQ staff, (including technical support) to the level required to identify and satisfy customer needs successfully
To source new products for the market. These to be within the Company’s general orbit of Laboratory Supply.

To attend/organise Conferences, Meetings and Exhibitions as required

Essential Skills: Ideally a life science background with sales or marketing experience within the laboratory supplies industry. Excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills are essential.

Salary: £30,000 + car + benefits

Location: Southampton
