Scientific sales - service contracts

Job Title: Sales representative – Service Contracts

Job Code: Cath 01

Job Description: Our client supplies high value laboratory instrumentation to laboratories such as pharma/ biotech, academia and hospital laboratories. They are looking to appoint a representative to sell service contracts in the North UK. The Service Contract Sales Representative is responsible for service business development with accountability for driving growth through selling extended warranty service agreements, upselling existing service agreements, Multi-Vendor agreements and driving targeted sales promotions in support of the UK Service organization. This will be achieved by working with the Contract Sales Administration Team, involving all activities which contribute to the acquisition, satisfaction and retention of service customers and the efficient and effective use of service processes. Additionally this position is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer/channel relationships and providing pre- and post sales service to customers.

Essential Skills: BSc + laboratory sales experience. Field service experience would be an advantage. Willingness to travel and good IT skills are essential.

Salary: £30,000 basic + 20% bonus

Location: North UK

Essential Skills: BSc Microbiology, clinical microbiology lab experience. Sales experience is not essential but candidates will need to demonstrate that they understand the requirements of a scientific sales representative and have the self motivation to succeed. Knowledge of NHS procurement methods would be an advantage.

Product specialist - water purification - process scale

Job Title: Product specialist– Pure Water (process scale)

Job Description: Our client specializes in measurements for pure and ultrapure water treatment with parameters of resistivity, conductivity, total organic carbon (TOC), flow, pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen and ozone. The products are frequently used in semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturing, pharmaceutical and biotechnology processing, and power and steam generation, as well as food and beverage production.
They are the leader in ultrapure and pure water analytics. Our client offers advanced instrumentation, sensors and service solutions while demonstrating industry leadership in providing technology compliant with industry regulations. They are the leading supplier for pharmaceutical USP/EP/JP compliant technology.
They have a vacancy within the Process Division for a Product Specialist, reporting to the Product Manager – Process Analytics.

As Product Specialist you will provide technical and commercial support to their internal and external customers. You will be responsible for supporting and promoting the instrument range, targeting the ultra pure water market. This will include carrying out product seminars at customer sites and developing close relationships with the sales force and integrators. In conjunction with the Product Manager, you will analyse market trends and develop marketing/sales strategies.

The role will also involve the preparation of quotations and tenders as well as checking orders.


Essential Skills: The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and will ideally have knowledge in electronics. You should have some experience of working in a technical support/process role. You must be capable of providing support for a portfolio of technical products and will have a feel for analytical instrumentation products. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be organised and capable of managing their own workload. A working knowledge of MS Office is also a requirement.


Salary: £18-23k pa+ depending on skills and experience brought to the role and a commission scheme of circa £3-4k pa, contributory pension scheme, medical insurance, company car, laptop, bonus scheme and many other benefits.

Job Description: Our client is looking to appoint a Product Support Specialist to work in their Marketing department. The role will involve technical and product support for the autoimmune product range to end users, distributors and sales representatives, delivering product training and marketing projects under supervision of Product Manager.

Essential Skills: BSc Biomedical science or similar. Experience of EIA or IFA. Laboratory experience with autoimmune testing and instrumentation. Good technical skills and problem solving ability. Candidates will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary: £22,000 - £24,000

Location: Birmingham
